16-year-old dead, 2 other teens injured in fatal crash in Juab County

JUAB COUNTY, Utah — A 16-year-old boy is dead after a fatal crash in Juab County Saturday.
Sgt. Finlinson with the Juab County Sheriff’s Department says four male teenagers were driving to Sand Mountain on Weiss Highway.
At approximately 11 a.m., the teens took a turn, causing the vehicle to go off the roadway and roll. Following this, Finlinson says three out of the four teens were ejected from the vehicle.
A 16-year-old in the vehicle sustained fatal head injuries from the rolling. He was flown to an area hospital by Airmed. At this time it is unclear if he died during transportation or at the hospital.
Additionally, another teen was transported to the hospital by Airmed. Along with this, the other two teens were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Finlinson reports the driver sustained no injuries from the fatal crash in Juab County. Injuries of the other two occupants of the vehicle are unknown at this time.
The cause of the is currently under investigation, though speed is an expected contributor.
