Crews working to extract driver from vehicle after crash on Alpine Loop

AMERICAN FORK CANYON, Utah — One person is in critical condition after a car accident on Alpine Loop on SR-92.
Lt. Cam Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said at around 6 a.m. on Thursday, a single vehicle went off the road near milepost 10. He said it went down a hill and rolled into a tree knocking it over. The car landed on its top with the tree on top of it.
There was only one occupant in the car, according to Roden. He said they are in critical condition and crews are working to free them from the vehicle.
At this time SR-92 is closed as authorities work to remove the tree from blocking the roadway and respond to the crash. Roden estimates the roadway will be closed for two or more hours.
