KEARNS — Police are investigating three juvenile suspects who fled after gunshots were heard near the Kearns Library.
According to Detective Quin Wilkins with the Unified Police Department, sometime between 6:45 and 7:00 p.m., an officer was sitting at a nearby parking lot when he believed to have heard gunshots.
The officer saw a vehicle fleeing from the area and followed it. When the officer got behind the vehicle, it accelerated away from him, said Wilkins.
The juveniles crashed the vehicle and fled. Two of the suspects were arrested near the scene, with one of them having a stolen firearm, according to police. The third suspect was found in their home.
Wilkins said no officers fired shots, and there are no reported injuries yet.
The investigation is ongoing.
