Police arrest two teens for shooting death of SLC man

SALT LAKE CITY– The Salt Lake City Police Department announced the arrest of two 15-year-olds for murder over the weekend. According to an SLCPD press release, the teens have been charged with the murder of 23-year-old Rory Swimm.
Police believe the teens initially argued with Swimm on Oct. 13 near 600 East and 200 South.
Court-authorized search warrants were executed as part of the ongoing investigation. The SLCPD’s Homicide Squad arrested two suspects without incident. The teens were booked into the Salt Lake County Juvenile Detention Center.
The names of the suspects are being held because they are juveniles.
According to a press release from SLCPD, this is the 14th homicide that has occurred in Salt Lake City in 2023.
