SLCPD looking for suspect in aggravated assault against a police officer

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is looking for a suspect connected to an aggravated assault against a police officer.
According to the SLCPD, an officer was injured during a vehicle pursuit Saturday afternoon.
#SLCPD 1000 W South Temple. Time: 1555. A slcpd officer was in a short #VehiclePursuit with a #ToyotaSequoia. Officer advised the driver ran over his foot and attempted to run him over. Vehicle was brown in color and was last seen in the area of 300 N 600 W heading EB.

SLCScanner reports the pursuit took place on 1000 W. South Temple at around 3:55 p.m.
The officer was chasing a brown Toyota Sequoia. The Toyota ran over his foot and attempted to run him over during the pursuit.
SCLPD reports the pursuit was terminated after this as the Toyota was driving recklessly and had driven toward downtown SLC.
Our officer is recovering and the driver is now wanted for aggravated assault against a police officer.
Fortunately, our officer wasn’t seriously hurt.
Due to the reckless driving and the fact that driver was headed into our busy downtown, the pursuit was terminated.

The vehicle was last seen heading eastbound near 300 N. 600 W, according to SLCScanner.
SLCPD says the officer is recovering and no one was seriously injured. The driver of the Toyota is wanted for aggravated assault against a police officer.
