Man allegedly connected to multiple burglaries arrested by SLCPD Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City Police Department arrested a suspect allegedly connected to multiple burglaries.
SLCPD says in a press release that 44-year-old Anthony Jack is the suspect in several crimes, including multiple burglaries, in downtown Salt Lake City. Police say a recent burglary at the Utah Attorney General’s Office is among these crimes.
Police say the arrest took place around 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 11.
Officers were dispatched to a parking garage near 111 E. 250 South State St. to investigate a potential burglary. The press release states a witness saw Jack inside the parking garage. Officers searched the garage but were unsuccessful in locating Jack.
Not long after this, SLCPD stopped a man matching Jack’s description near 250 South State St. According to the press release, a witness told police Jack was looking into car windows while walking northbound on State St.
Jack did not give officers his name when requested. After confirming his identity, officers learned Jack had an active arrest warrant.
According to the press release, officers found methamphetamine on Jack’s person during his arrest. Along with this, they also found two credit cards stolen during a purse snatching, a bag of physical keys and electronic keycards belonging to several local businesses and other property that did not belong to him.
Officers are requesting that Jack remains in custody pending trial due to him saying if he were released, he would continue to commit similar crimes.
