SLC mayor meets with mayors from around the country in DC

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall is in Washington D.C.
The U.S. Conference of Mayors Winter Meeting to Bring Together Local and Federal Leaders is taking place in the nation’s capital Jan. 19-21.
Mendenhall joins mayors from around the country to discuss the biggest issues weighing on their communities, and she joined Utah’s Morning News with an update you can hear below.
The agenda includes, mental health, infrastructure, housing, job creation, cybersecurity, immigration, and clean energy among other issues.
Some of the speakers include Biden Cabinet Officials: Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer M. Granholm; EPA Administrator Michael Regan and U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
The U.S. Conference of Mayors is the official nonpartisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are nearly 1,400 such cities in the country and each city is represented in the conference by its chief elected official, the mayor.
