‘Be Optimistic’: Get to know President Dallin H. Oaks in faith, family and law in new special

SALT LAKE CITY — President Dallin H. Oaks was set apart as the 18th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Oct. 14, 2025. This Easter Sunday, KSL NewsRadio partners with the Church News podcast to create an hour special inviting listeners to get to know the man of faith, family and law, as well as his invitation to “Be Optimistic.” 

 

 Tune in to KSL Newsradio on Sunday, April 5th, at noon, between conference coverage, as Church News editor and podcast host Ryan Jensen guides listeners through President Oaks’ recent messages, and introduces the newest leader of the Church through his own words and those of his family, wife and fellow leaders. 

Throughout the special compilation from previously released Church News podcast episodes, President Oaks shares messages of hope from the last six months as he carried the holy mantle as the Lord’s Prophet to the world.  

 Tune in to hear President Oaks’ impressions and invitations from the Burley, Idaho Temple dedication and his first devotional address as Prophet in the packed 19,000-seat Marriott Center at Brigham Young University, Provo.

Adding to President Oaks’ October 2025 general conference talk, “The Family-Centered Gospel of Jesus Christ,” we hear from his wife, Sister Kristen M. Oaks, as well as his granddaughter Tiffany Oaks Bratt.
