Flight operations resumed Tuesday at Hill Air Force Base

CLEARFIELD, Utah — Hill Air Force Base announced Tuesday that the 388th Fighter Wing and 419th Fighter Wing have resumed daily F-35A flight operations.
The return of daily flight training comes nearly a week after a F-35A Lightning II from the 388th Fighter Wing crashed near the north end of the runway at the base.
And while the investigation into the jet’s crash continues, base leaders say there don’t appear to be any additional risks to the aircraft following last week’s incident.
In a social media post on Twitter, the 388th Fighter Wing says the mission of the F-35 Lightning II at Hill Air Force Base plays a critical role in the defense of the country. And being able to resume its training, is vital to the success of that mission.
Additionally, leaders are confident in the military members involved in the mission of the 388th Fighter Wing. Not only today but well into the future.

The pilot involved in last week’s crash was not seriously injured. The pilot was taken to an area hospital to be examined and was released later that evening.
