The Shakespeare Festival

The famous Shakespeare Festival will return with its 2021 season dedicated to its founder, Fred Adams who passed away in 2020. This year there will be eight plays which will include the plays Pericles, Richard III, Comedy of Errors, Pirates of Penzance, Ragtime, Cymbeline, Intimate Apparel, and Comedy of Terrors. Brian Head Resort

Brian Head Resort is a hidden gem in Utah all year round. You’ve probably heard all about Brian Head’s awesome skiing. But on weekends in June through September, they have miles of chair lift rides, hiking, mini zip-lines, mountain biking, and even alpine slides. 

Cedar Breaks National Monument

Cedar Breaks National Monument is filled with incredible things for you and your family to do and see. This National Monument features painted cliffs, 150 species of wildflowers in the spring and summer, hiking trails, and spectacular views. Cedar Breaks has a similar appearance to Bryce Canyon but actually is a bit more vibrant due to the high iron content. So get out those cameras!

Parowan Gap Petroglyphs in Cedar City, UT

Just a short drive northwest of Cedar City is the Parowan Gap where you will find some incredible petroglyphs. The Gap became regularly traveled long ago by ancient Fremont Cultures and ancestors of the Hopi and Southern Paiute People. Experts think that it was a special place to visit at certain times of the year. And the petroglyphs have been interpreted as maps or calendars. Plus just a short drive to the east and you can also see some ancient dinosaur tracks too!

Kolob Canyons in Zion National Park

The lesser-visited section of the famous Zion National Park is twenty-one minutes south of Cedar City. But with the entrance to the visitor’s center right off the freeway, this area is incredibly easy to access. The scenery on the six-mile road is incredible. The Middle Fork of Taylor Creek is the most recommended hike, but you can also hike the Timbercreek trail. It’s only a 1 mile out and back hike and is perfect if you don’t have a lot of time.

Bristlecone Pine Trail

This hike is short, easy to get to, and is just awesome! What is a Bristlecone Pine you ask? They are some of the oldest living super resilient pine trees in the world. To give you an idea of how old and how resilient these pine are, one of the pines on this trail is about 4,500 years old. This trail is only 0.6 miles long and is kid and dog-friendly!
