SALT LAKE CITY — Construction of the Bees Ballpark in South Jordan is progressing smoothly, and it’s right on schedule to open on April 8.
Ty Wardle, chief revenue officer and general manager of the Salt Lake Bees, said they’re just working on finishing touches this week, including painting and installing the big LED scoreboard.
The new ballpark aims at catering to the fan experience and will have new features like a movie theater, a plaza, food trucks, and a mini golf course.
Wardle said there will be lots of family-friendly activities for every game night during opening week.
“Giveaways, pennants, t-shirts, beanies. We plan to activate the concourse with music and other fan activities.”
He said there has also been a big turnout for job applications for new positions that come with the park.
“We’ve had incredible community support and civic support as well, and I think the state of Utah is ready for some spring baseball.”
