ROY, Utah –The new year will bring an end to two major road construction projects.
Mitch Shaw with UDOT said they are ahead of schedule on the I-15 road construction on 5600 South in Roy. Shaw said UDOT will be done in that area by the end of the year.
“That’s something that we’ve always been eyeing from the beginning of the project,” said Shaw. “We know a project of this magnitude, right on I-15, can create some pretty significant impacts.”
The project should bring some traffic relief to our northern Utah drivers.
“So, I think that’ll be welcome news for people to see that we’re essentially going to be off of I-15 next year in 2025,” Shaw said.
Additionally, the widening project on SR-108 and 2000 West from West Point to Clinton will wrap up in 2025. Shaw said that road has become a major corridor because of the growth in the area.
