SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Sen. Mitt Romney co-sponsored a resolution to recognize this week as “National Police Week” and it has passed unanimously.
Sen. Romney sent his condolences to the family and friends of Santaquin Sergeant Bill Hooser as he spoke about the resolution.
He also said his sacrifice is a reminder we should recognize all officers who sacrifice their safety every day.
“Sergeant Hosser’s sacrifice is an important reminder for all of us,” Romney said. “Every single day a man and woman in law enforcement put their lives on the line to protect us and our communities”
The resolution for making this week “National Police Week” lists all 226 names of officers who sacrificed their lives in 2023 to protect their communities.
