July Fourth Beryl barn fire under investigation

SALT LAKE CITY — The cause of a barn fire in Beryl is being investigated after police say the fire caused the barn to be deemed a total loss on Friday.
The Iron County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to the fire at 8:03 p.m.
“The structure involved was a barn and it was a total loss as it was fully engulfed by the time Fire Department personnel arrived on scene,” the sheriff’s office said. “Included in the loss was livestock, farm equipment, and several vehicles were damaged as well.”
According to the sheriff’s office, the fire spread a half acre away from the barn, but was put out before any other properties in the area were damaged.
“The Iron County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all personnel and agencies who responded swiftly and professionally to this incident,” the sheriff’s office said. “Special thanks are extended to our Deputies, the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), Gold Cross Ambulance Service, Enterprise Fire Department, Newcastle Fire Department, and the Beryl Fire Department. Your coordinated efforts and professionalism were vital, and your service is deeply valued.”
