Body of snowmobiler found following avalanche in Pole Canyon

CEDAR FORT, Utah — The Utah County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that rescuers found a body of a man who was buried by an avalanche on Monday.
Late last night @UCSO_SAR located the body of the 38 year old man caught in an avalanche in Pole Canyon near Cedar Fort. He was buried in over 22’ of snow. Later I will release more details of how he was caught and how he was recovered. I will be available for interviews. pic.twitter.com/1aUzN1TK0i

KSL TV reports that Sgt. Spencer Cannon said the missing snowmobiler was found in more than 22 feet of snow.
The avalanche occurred in Pole Canyon near Lewiston Peak in the northwest portion of Cedar Fort.
KSL TV reports that the snowmobiler was found with equipment designed to help find people buried by an avalanche.
The name of the victim has not been released. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
