Multiple serious injuries reported after dust storm leads to 8 vehicle crash near Utah, Idaho border

SALT LAKE CITY — A roadway was closed for much of Wednesday night near the Utah-Idaho border after a dust storm created low visibility and resulted in an 8-vehicle crash, the Utah Highway Patrol said.
According to Trooper Takesha Durrant, the storm kicked up around 4 p.m. on Wednesday on U.S. Highway 91 in Cache County. He said there were “multiple serious injuries” after the crash. Later, police said that seven people were injured. Most of them had moderate injuries, and one person was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Northbound and Southbound U.S. Highway 91 were closed at mile marker 45 while an investigation was conducted.
