3 killed in West Jordan house fire, 1 person in critical condition

WEST JORDAN — Three people were found dead inside a burning home in West Jordan on Friday. One other person was found alive and flown to the hospital in critical condition.
At approximately 10:15 a.m., both the West Jordan police and fire department were dispatched to a fire near 8200 S. 6400 West, according to Sgt. Andrew Hercules with West Jordan police.
“When there are confirmed individuals deceased in the house, we do the investigation in conjunction with the fire department,” Hercules said.
When asked if the scene was a result of a crime, Hercules said investigators could not confirm.
“Our investigators are looking into see if this was a criminal event or what happened,” Hercules said. “Really, (it’s) just about the details of what happened, that’s what they’re investigating right now.”
The ages of the victims involved were not known as of approximately 1 p.m.
Officials closed a roundabout near 8200 South as crews continue to address the fire and its aftermath.
