SALT LAKE CITY — A Fairview home that caught fire around noon on Valentine’s Day has been declared a total loss.
And Fairview Fire Chief Jeffrey Cox said their investigation has revealed a faulty electrical heater as the culprit.
People were in the house when the fire began according to officials. They made it out, and no residents or firefighters were injured.
However, Cox said there are some “unaccounted for” kittens.
Six hours to fight the Fairview flames
Thirty firefighters from multiple areas spent six hours beating down the flames according to Cox. The fire moved from into the home’s attic and then spread to the home’s additions.
