Former Mount Pleasant officer has been charged

MOUNT PLEASANT — A former officer in Mount Pleasant has been charged for allegedly faking his time logs.

The North Valley Police Department says the officer is accused of working a second job and logging those hours at the same time he was working for the police department. Essentially being paid by the two jobs for the same hours worked.

This went on from January 2024 to May 2025.

The department says the officer was placed on leave through the investigation and fired once it was completed.

The former officer is now charged for misusing public funds.
