Popular Salt Lake City breakfast sandwich shop closes

SALT LAKE CITY — Frankie & Essl’s, a popular breakfast restaurant in Salt Lake City, announced Friday that they are permanently closing their doors.
About a month ago, according to their social media, the shop experienced flooding from a burst pipe that “caused extensive damage.” They temporarily closed their doors to make repairs with plans to reopen.
On Friday, the shop announced it will not be reopening.

“It’s unfortunate that the store’s ending happened the way it did, but hey, you can’t control everything. We thank you for allowing us to be a part of your community,” said their post on Instagram.

Frankie & Essl’s was known for their breakfast sandwiches and for partnering with local vendors to provide customers with coffee and fresh bread.
In their Instagram post, Frankie & Essl’s also thanked their customers for helping them to keep going.
“Salt Lake, we thank you, we love you, and we hope that you strive to help small businesses succeed in this ever challenging environment.”
