SALT LAKE CITY — Goblins and ghosts will need to bundle up as they head out to trick-or-treat tonight. According to KSL’s Chief Meteorologist Kevin Eubank, Halloween evening will start with clear skies and temperatures in the 50s.

“As we head through eight and nine o’clock it’ll be mostly clear but it’s definitely going to be on the cool side,” said Eubank.

Halloween forecast

Eubank said that compared to previous years, this Halloween looks pretty good despite chilly temperatures. The Wasatch Front as a whole will have a dry cool night for trick-or-treating. Salt Lake County will start with mostly sunny conditions at five o’clock with temperatures in the low 50s.

The sun will set around 6:20 p.m.

“We’ll slide into the upper 40s by six o’clock. The minute that sun drops, temperatures are going to quickly follow [to the] low 40s. As we head through eight and nine o’clock, it’ll be mostly clear but it’s definitely going to be on the cool side,” said Eubank.

Utah County can expect similar conditions. “At five o’clock as we head to six o’clock, temperatures dip into the upper 40s. But as the sun sets we’ll quickly fall into the mid-40s,” he said. Temperatures will fall to the low 40s by 9 p.m. under mostly clear conditions.

According to Eubank, Davis County will see mostly sunny skies at five o’clock with temperatures in the low 50s. By eight o’clock, temps will fall to the low 40s.

Weber County will see mostly sunny conditions to start with low 50s at five o’clock. By nine o’clock, temperatures will dip to the low 40s.

Tooele’s conditions will be similar but will have some clouds filter in this evening.

“We’ll see a beautiful moon out there with a little bit of cloud cover moving in… it should be a great night for trick or treating all across northern Utah,” according to Eubank.
