Man charged after woman died in Hurricane car crash

SALT LAKE CITY — A man driving in Hurricane struck a woman while she was crossing at a crosswalk. After her death, he now faces a charge of negligent homicide.
The Hurricane Police Department concluded their investigation into the crash which occurred on May 5.
Police said 66-year-old Tammy Lynn Crouse was crossing State Street in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Wayne Allan Levitz.
According to the police investigation, Levitz was traveling southbound on 700 West and making a left turn eastbound onto State Street when the vehicle he drove hit Ms. Crouse while she was walking northbound in the crosswalk.
Levitz was charged with negligent homicide in connection with Ms. Crouse’s death and booked into the Washington County Jail.
