SALT LAKE CITY — Memorial plans for Sha Reh, the lone survivor of a murder-suicide that killed his parents and three siblings in 2024, were announced Wednesday evening.

According to his obituary, Reh died in his sleep unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 11. He was 19 years old.

The obituary states a viewing for Reh will be held at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse located at 2280 S. 300 E. It will take place Saturday, Jan. 17, starting at 9 a.m.

A funeral service will take place later that day at 10 a.m. at the same meetinghouse. The viewing and funeral are open to the public.

Following the funeral, a private graveside service will be held at Elysian Burial Gardens.

Reh’s extended family released the following statement about Reh’s death:

“As a family, we have been overwhelmed by the immediate and infinite goodness of God. We have experienced an outpouring of generosity and love from people all over the world. We look forward to joining with others as we mourn Sha’s death, celebrate his life and the restoration of his sight, and that he is with his family once again. In honor of Sha, we invite everyone to live with kindness and humility, forgiving others and loving them unconditionally.”

A GoFundMe* has been set up to help support Reh’s family with medical and funeral expenses.
