Roosevelt Animal Shelter urges community to help with pet adoptions

ROOSEVELT — The Roosevelt Animal Shelter reached out to the community Friday afternoon to help out with downsizing their sheltered dogs.

In a Facebook post, the animal shelter said they are currently housing 31 dogs with over 75 dogs on the surrender waitlist.

The post lists several dogs that are in urgent need to get out of the shelter, with all of them being in shelter custody for three months or longer.

The shelter said it is a community effort to remain under a “No-Kill standard” and urges people to keep up to date on their pets’ vaccinations and are microchipped.

“Animals are not disposable, they are a lifelong commitment,” the post stated. “Please be a responsible pet owner.”

The animals available for adoption are provided through the link.
