Rep. Moore supports Supreme Court ruling to bring deported man back to Maryland

SALT LAKE CITY — In a recent town hall meeting Rep. Blake Moore said he wants the Trump Administration to facilitate the return of a recently deported man from Maryland.
Moore, the vice chair of the Republican Conference, said he supports the administration taking action against illegal immigration.

Moore said the dropping number of encounters at the southern boarder should be viewed as a victory by the Trump administration. But he said they should follow the Supreme Court’s ruling to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to Maryland from El Salvador.
“But you gotta take an approach that definitely allows for the due process to play out,” Moore said at the meeting.
Honoring due process
He cautioned against ignoring due process, saying it could weaken support for action against illegal immigration.
“By honoring that due process you’re going to get more support I think from Americans to continue and make sure that we do remedy the existing illegal immigration problem,” he said.
Moore also said he would like to see more legislative action around this issue instead of just executive orders to deal with immigration. In this case, Moore said the Supreme Court and due process have to be honored.
“There should be an honoring of the Supreme Court by saying ‘you know this individual needs to be brought back and put through the process,’ that is something I clearly agree with.”
