Teen killed in motorcycle crash in Weber Canyon

SALT LAKE CITY — A 17-year-old boy died Wednesday following a motorcycle crash on Weber Canyon Road.

According to police, the teen was traveling east on Weber Canyon Road when he failed to negotiate a turn, causing the motorcycle to leave the roadway, slide and strike a fence.

Police say that about 30 minutes after the crash, a passerby discovered the teen and alerted emergency servicesat approximately 6:00 p.m. The victim had already succumbed to his injuries before first responders arrived.

Officials have not released the teen’s identity pending notification of family. The incident remains under investigation.
