ALPINE — A man was seriously injured Sunday morning in the Three Falls Trail area, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
The Lone Peak Fire District and Utah County search and rescue teams responded to an incident at 2650 N Three Falls Dr.
Sgt. Ray Ormond with the sheriff’s office said a 40-year-old man was rappelling in the area when he fell and cut his upper thigh on a stick.
The man was hoisted off the mountain and was transported to the hospital by a waiting ambulance, according to Ormond.
It is unclear if the man was impaled by the stick at this time. The sheriff’s office is working to confirm this information.
