SALT LAKE CITY – Two people were injured during a shooting at a house party in West Valley City early Sunday morning.

According to Lt. M.T. Johnson with the West Valley City Police Department, police received several calls from neighbors about a large fight near 3100 Timeron Dr.

Johnson said as police were driving to the house, they received a report that shots were fired.

At approximately 1:25 a.m., police found two people who were shot “and started rendering aid to them,” Johnson said. They were both taken to a hospital in serious condition, Johnson said, but one of them had non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators began interviews, “specifically in the house where the large party was supposed to have been,” Johnson said, but reported most were uncooperative.

Police reportedly found evidence from the shooting and “believed they had located the person who was responsible,” Johnson said. The suspect was arrested, interviewed, and was booked into jail.
