BARRANQUILLA, Colombia — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints dedicated their 161st temple worldwide on Sunday, December 9.
The Barranquilla Colombia Temple was formally dedicated by President Dallin H. Oaks, first counselor in the Church’s First Presidency, in three sessions. The sessions were digitally broadcast to congregations within the temple district, which includes approximately 35,000 Latter-day Saints in Colombia’s northern regions.
The Barranquilla Temple is the Church’s second temple in Colombia; the first temple was completed in Bogota in 1999.
According to a Church statement, nearly 35,000 people visited the temple during its open house from November 3 through 24.
