Man dead after building explosion in Brigham City near High School

BRIGHAM CITY, Utah — A man is dead after an explosion at a storage shed in Brigham City.

The blast happened around 7:00 a.m. Tuesday. Brigham City Police confirmed that a man in his 30s died while working inside the shed.
The building is owned by Hypercomp Engineering, who specializes in “filament-wound, high-pressure composite vessels”, according to their website.
Police have not yet identified the man but did confirm that he was an employee of Hypercomp.
The blast happened near Box Elder High School, but no one there appears to be unaffected by it.
Police are still investigating the cause of the explosion, but the company makes and tests their products on site.
