Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany tweeted an assessment from President Donald J. Trump’s doctor on Monday afternoon, stating that the most recent COVID-19 tests that Mr. Trump has taken came back negative.

In the memo, Pres. Trump’s doctor Sean Conley said, “In response to your inquiry regarding the president’s most recent COVID-19 test, I can share with you that he has tested NEGATIVE, on consecutive days.”

Conley said in the memo that they were using the Abbott Binax NOW antigen card, a rapid testing device.

He also said that repeated negative tests were indicative of a lack of viral replication.

“This comprehensive data, in concert with the [Center for Disease Control’s] CDC’s guidelines for removal of transmission-based precautions, have informed our medical team’s assessment that the president is not infectious to others,” he said.

This assessment about the negative tests comes as President Trump travels to his first campaign rally since being infected with COVID-19 which is set to take place in Sanford, Florida.
