SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — Police were called to a shooting at a South Jordan home in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Lt. Matt Pennington of the South Jordan Police Department, said they were called to a house at 3600 West and 10000 South at 4:30 a.m.
According to Pennington, police arrived to a “pretty chaotic” scene at a house party. An altercation between two males started in the garage and moved into the driveway.
That’s when the fight turned violent.
A 23-year-old male victim was shot once in the chest. He was driven in a private hospital to a nearby hospital. He was then transported by air ambulance to another hospital.
Following surgery, Pennington said the victim is in critical but stable condition.
A 19-year-old male has been taken into custody in the South Jordan shooting.
“We believe they are unknown to each other,” Pennington said. “As far as what they were fighting over, we’re not sure.”
