Sandy police investigate fatal car crash

SANDY, Utah — A Sunday evening car crash in Sandy has left one person dead.
The crash occurred on 9400 South and between 1700 East and 1780 East. In a social media post, Sandy police said eastbound traffic is closed for the investigation.
According to Sgt Clayton Swensen of the Sandy Police Department, a silver vehicle was traveling westbound on 9400 South just before 7 p.m. For reasons unknown, it left its lane of travel and went into eastbound lanes. It collided head on with another vehicle.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported to an area hospital. The driver of the eastbound vehicle died at the hospital. The other drive is listed in stable condition.
The victim has been identified as Ashley Robinson, 28, of Sandy.
