SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced their popular Giving Machines will return this year. According to church leaders, the charity-based vending machines have raised more than nine million dollars for humanitarian organizations across the world since 2017.

Giving Machines around the country

Church officials announced that during the 2021 holiday season, ten cities will host these donation vending machines.

The locations of these machines are as follows:

  • Las Vegas, Nevada at the Downtown Summerlin Mall
  • Nashville, Tennessee at the Bridgestone Arena
  • Honolulu, Hawaii at the Pearlridge Center
  • Orem, Utah at University Place
  • Salt Lake City, Utah at City Creek Center
  • Oakland, California at Temple Hill
  • Gilbert, Arizona at Water Tower Plaza
  • Denver, Colorado at Writer Square
  • New York, New York at Manhattan New York Temple
  • Kansas City, Missouri at Crown Center

Three locations, Nashville, Oakland, and Kansas City, are making their debut in the program this year.

Global and local charities

Each giving machine contains items for purchase that represent donations to global and local charities. The church announced the global charities this year are CARE, Church World Service, UNHCR, UNICEF, and WaterAid

People can use the machines to donate clean water, access to healthcare services, hygiene kits, employment training, bedding, food, and even livestock.

“Of course, the ever-popular chickens, goats, pigs, and beehives are also available,” the church said in a news release.

Bonneville International Corporation, the company that owns KSL NewsRadio, is a subsidiary of Deseret Management Corporation, which is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
