Crossing guard injured after being hit by a car in Heber City

HEBER CITY, Utah — A crossing guard in Heber City suffered minor injuries Tuesday after being involved in a hit-and-run incident.
Heber City Police say the incident occurred in a crosswalk near Old Mill Elementary School on Mill Road at 3:30 p.m. The vehicle is described as a black SUV with an adult female driver. It was driving northbound on Mill Road.
In wake of Tuesday’s incident, police are asking motorists to slow down and obey crossing guards in school zones. Additionally, police are also asking motorists not to drive distracted.
Police say the injured crossing guard will make a full recovery.
