TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — The Utah Highway Patrol says a man died Wednesday afternoon after the vehicle he was driving slammed into the back of a pump truck.
Cam Roden, with the UHP, says the incident occurred at the on-ramp at 4700 South to northbound I-215 W. The pump truck was stopped in traffic after losing a tire. UHP troopers were on scene providing traffic control when the GMC pickup truck crashed into the back of the pump truck.
The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pump truck was not injured in the crash.
Information on the victim was not provided.
The crash forced the closure of some of the lanes on I-215. As of 2:30 p.m., Roden says only the left two lanes were open.
