Church announces site of Bakersfield California Temple

SALT LAKE CITY — The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Tuesday the location of the Bakersfield California Temple.
According to a news release from the church, the temple will be built on 13.07 acres of land located at the northwest corner of the intersection at Stockdale Highway and Jewetta Avenue in Bakersfield.
The temple will be a single-story structure and will be roughly 30,000 square feet. A church distribution center and a meetinghouse will also be near the temple.
The Bakersfield California Temple was announced in April by President Russell M. Nelson. A temple was announced for San Jose, California at the same time.
Other temple news
Church leaders also released the rendering of the Cleveland Ohio Temple. This temple was first announced by President Nelson in April 2022. The location of the temple was first announced in December 2022.
