19-year-old man killed in house explosion in Elk Ridge

UTAH COUNTY, Utah — The Utah County Sheriff’s Office says a 19-year-old man was killed as a result of a house explosion in Elk Ridge Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the area of 300 Elk Ridge Drive.
An individual who saw the incident described it as “huge” to KSL.
Tim Pannell, who works five houses down from where the explosion occurred, told KSL the explosion felt like it might be an earthquake.
He also says the garage door was blown out and vehicles were crumpled. He also says it looked like no other homes were damaged.
The investigation into the explosion is ongoing.
