Man was life flighted after falling 16 feet off of barn’s rooftop in Utah County

SALT LAKE CITY — A man in his 20s had to be life flighted out of Utah County on Saturday when he fell 16 feet off of a barn rooftop.
According to Sgt. Garrett Dutson with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, the man was helping to build a barn with his friend. They were working in the area of 17600 W and W. Canyon Road in Utah County.
The two were setting a truss when one of the truss’ gave way, causing one of them to fall off of the barn.
Dutson said the man who fell landed on his back.
After calling for help, units who arrived on the scene found the man was complaining of shortness of breath and pain in his ribs.
According to Dutson, the man was conscious and alert the whole time. Units then life flighted the man out of the area as a precaution.
