SALT LAKE CITY — Two of the hardest-to-book campgrounds in the nation are in Utah, and they include Devil’s Garden in Arches.
The Dyrt’s latest report on the most difficult-to-book campgrounds in the country lists Fruita Campground at Capitol Reef National Park at number eight and Devils Garden Campground at Arches National Park at number three.
The report shows Fruita as booked for nearly 96% of the season. Devil’s Garden is booked 99.2% of the season.
The hardest-to-book campground is the Nevada Beach Campground at Lake Tahoe.
Devil’s Garden and Fruita aren’t the only ones
Public Affairs Specialist with the Southeast Utah Group of National Parks, Karen Garthwait, said this is the case at campgrounds across the nation.
“If you are a last-minute traveler, the best thing you can do is give yourself flexibility and patience, and maybe be willing to stay your first night a little farther outside of town.”
Along with being a popular tourist attraction, the campsites offered at Arches aren’t very big.
“We only have about 50 sites and it is fully reservable for eight months out of the year,” Garthwait said. “We’ve become kind of famous, but the road’s only 18 miles long. We just have the one campground.”
