OGDEN, Utah — In anticipation of tens of thousands of new people moving to Ogden in the coming decades, leaders have decided it’s time to hone in on the city’s structure
City Planning Manager Barton Brierly said zoning is one of their main focuses.
“We’re also working on updating city codes through a project called Zone Ogden,” he said in a promotional video. “We want to make sure that city policy and implementation are aligned.”
City Mayor Ben Nadolski said in the video city officials are looking into the future as far as 2050. Improvements will be made to transportation, housing, tourist accommodations, and more.
One of the biggest proposed projects is “Canyon Gateway”— a way to connect the city to recreation and ski resorts in Ogden Canyon.
However, it’s not just officials. They want residents to chime in with their thoughts on how to make the city great. According to Plan Ogden, it will host a “scenarios workshop” at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 23. It will then host a Spanish workshop on Oct. 24.
