SALT LAKE CITY — Utah is looking at more unsettled weather ahead of the weekend and moving into next week.
Monday brought near-record-breaking temperatures to the state. But on Tuesday, Northern Utah was hit by a storm that brought rainy and snowy weather to the valley.
After Tuesday’s storm moves out, KSL meteorologist Devan Masciulli said we can expect a warmup on Wednesday before things cool off for the weekend.
“This weekend trough will drop temperatures again, about 10 degrees below normal, into the low 40s,” she said.
Masciulli said right now it looks like the temperature roller-coaster will continue next week, but the temperature swings aren’t looking as dramatic.
“The pattern shows that next week, temperatures are highly likely to be cooler than normal, below that 52-degree mark,” Masciulli said. “And there’s a slight chance for some wet weather.”
Masciulli said these up-and-down temperatures could continue through the end of the month but it’s hard to predict.
“Heading into the weekend before Thanksgiving, there may be a chance for a slight warmup but it’s really too far out, it’s too uncertain to determine how warm temperatures might build if another ridge builds in here. Let alone if that pattern even comes to fruition,” she said.
The state could also continue to get little pop-up storms for the next couple of weeks.
