SALT LAKE CITY – A wildfire ignited on the east side of Bear Lake in Utah Thursday afternoon according to fire authorities.

The blaze, known as North Eden Fire, has burned approximately 14,000 acres as of Friday afternoon and started in Rich County. It has spread to state owned and private land.

Authorities in the area are saying people should be ready to evacuate. No homes or buildings have been hit by the flames and no injuries have been reported.

It has spread to parts of Idaho and Wyoming as well at this point. As of Friday afternoon authorities say the fire is at 20 percent contained.

COAL FIRE UPDATE

Fire authorities have now allowed some property owners who were previously evacuated to return back Friday morning. They will need to monitor the evacuation notices in case the fire picks up.

Crews also continue to battle the Coal Hollow Fire in Utah County. Authorities reported Thursday morning the fire spread about 1000 acres in a day and is at 16 percent contained.

The fire ignited on August 4th when lighting struck and is now up to 26,380 acres burned. KSL.com has created a graphic which shows how the fire has spread in the last 12 days.

This story will be updated as more information is learned.
