Teacher Feature is back in session

Jan 28, 2021, 2:21 PM | Updated: Jan 8, 2024, 2:10 pm

After what felt like an extended summer vacation, KSL’s Teacher Feature program is back in session!

For 30 years, KSL’s Teacher Feature program has been a way to honor Utah educators that go above and beyond each day. Due to the circumstances around COVID-19, teachers are facing tremendous challenges. Now more than ever, they deserve our encouragement, thanks and recognition.

Burt Brothers Tire & Service has partnered with KSL NewsRadio to re-launch the program. Burt Brothers has been involved with Teacher Feature for years, and say they are appreciative of a way to give back.

“For more than a decade, Burt Brothers has been honoring teachers. All of us can look back upon our own education experiences and realize how significant our teachers’ influence was in motivating us to integrate learning throughout our lives,” said Jeremy Burt, owner.

“Without a doubt, our teachers not only taught the subject matter, they encouraged us to weave integrity and honesty in all our dealings. That encouragement has been a meaningful part of our success – from the beginning of our business and on through our expansion. Integrity is a huge part of our “doing it better” tagline and all of us have tremendous gratitude and respect for the education we received and education we participate in through our children and grandchildren. This program is a way of paying respect and appreciation to the great educators in our amazing Utah school system,” Jeremy Burt said.

All recognized teachers will be honored on KSL NewsRadio’s website and social media. Once each month, a featured teacher will be selected to win a prize pack that includes a $500 Visa gift card from Cyprus Credit Union, a $200 gift certificate from Macey’s, and a pair of season tickets to Hale Center Theatre.

“Through our participation in Teacher Feature we hope not only to spotlight the high esteem we hold for educators, but also to recognize and applaud the best of the best,” Jeremy Burt said. “It’s difficult to express adequate gratitude for the teachers in Utah, we hope this program helps show the applause and thankfulness we have for all the excellent teachers in our state and hopefully call out a special recognition for those teachers that their peers, students or parents of students have nominated to receive this additional distinction.”
