West Jordan road rage turns to threats of violence, and a gun

WEST JORDAN, Utah — One of the men who police said was expressing road rage and driving aggressively in West Jordon on Saturday afternoon is nowhere to be found, even though he agreed to meet another driver “at the substation,” for a fight.

West Jordan Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Worthen told KSL that police got a call from a driver who complained that a another driver in a white Chevy truck and trailer, hauling motorcycles, was driving aggressively, running red lights, and refusing to let the caller merge.

The complainant said this was happening around 7800 South and U-111 (SR-111.) The drivers, both male, were driving southbound on U-111.

“Both of the vehicles were kind of by each other. They began flipping each other off,” said Worthen. “And then they both agreed to pull over.”

Worthen said at that point, both men got out of their vehicles to fight with the complainant suggesting that the two “go to the substation.”

 

“That’s when the suspect went back to his vehicle, opened the door, and pulled a gun from the door,” Worthen said.

The complainant told police that the road rage suspect threatened to kill him. It was at that point that both parties left the scene in their vehicles.

Police say the suspect vehicle was last seen driving westbound on 8200 South. He has not been seen since.
