Spanish Fork leaders deliver valentines to 4,000 high school students

SPANISH FORK, Utah — Spanish Fork Mayor Mike Mendenhall and members of the City Council made Valentine’s Day a little more special for nearly 4,000 high school students Monday. Mayor Mendenhall and the City Council members hand-delivered valentines to each high school in Spanish Fork.

“Four years ago, a high school student named Sterling Brinkerhoff created a valentine for every student at Spanish Fork High School,” said Mayor Mike Mendenhall in a press release. “We wanted to carry that on. And make sure all of the high school students in Spanish Fork know that they are loved and are important to our community.”

Over the weekend, the mayor, city council and other city employees, along with their spouses volunteered their time in putting together the roughly 4,000 valentines.

Mayor Mendenhall and three members of the City Council delivered the valentines to four high schools in Spanish Fork. Those schools were Landmark, American Leadership Academy, Spanish Fork High School, and Maple Mountain High School.

Each valentine consists of a photo of an elected leader, a treat and a QR code to a special Valentine’s Day message, reminding each student they are loved, and are important to the community.
