AUSTIN, Texas — Eight of the 10 Sorenson employees who were injured over the weekend in an accident in Texas have been released from the hospital, the company announced Monday night.

The status of the two remaining employees was not disclosed in a company press release.

A statement from the company read, “We acknowledge the ongoing impact of this traumatic event on many people, and our Sorenson colleagues who were impacted continue to have our full support,”

Ten Sorenson employees were in Austin, Texas last weekend to attend a DeafNation Expo. The group of employees were at food truck on Friday when two vehicles collided at a nearby intersection. One of the vehicles was sent into the path of the Sorenson employees.

“Sorenson is deeply saddened by the accident and by the physical and emotional injuries that were sustained and that continue,” said Sorenson CEO Jorge Rodriguez in a press release. “We express gratitude for the outpouring of support from the Deaf and greater communities as well as from industry colleagues for their care and concern during this difficult time.”
