Woodward Park City to kick off season with celebration, Olympic snow sports athletes

PARK CITY, Utah — Woodward Park City announced that it will open for the winter ski season on November 17, 2023. On Saturday, November 18, 2023, Woodward will host a start-of-season event called “Peace, Park, & Friends.”

As part of the event, Woodward Park City will host Olympic snow sports athletes Danny Davis, Jamie Anderson, Red Gerard, and Todd Richards. They will be signing autographs beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

During the Saturday event, guests can also participate in ride-alongs. Additionally, special presentations, live music, and film screenings will be offered.

The opening weekend will mark the beginning of Woodward’s fifth season of operation in Park City.

The action sports venue said it will open its featured terrain park. The Gateway conveyor lift will be open from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday. Guests can access Jib Park during those hours.

On Saturday, November 18, hours will be expanded to a full day; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Guests will also be able to access tubing beginning on Saturday, in addition to Jib Park terrain.

“We look forward to our fifth winter season at Woodward Park City,” Gar Trayner, Woodward Park City’s General Manager said.

According to the press release, Woodward Park City has plenty of events planned for the season.

In addition to special events, Woodward offers winter sports lessons and training sessions.

“There’s no better place to further develop a passion for action sports thanks to WWPC’s programming, top-notch facilities, and welcoming community. We’re excited to be reactivating our much-loved snow sports amenities later this week,” said Trayner.

Woodward’s “Play Forever Tuesdays” will return this year. The event, held on select Tuesdays, will feature discounted access to the action sports center.

According to the press release, Play Forever Tuesdays are designed “to help introduce all kinds of families to action sports.” Woodward donates 15% of its earnings from those days to a local Utah-based nonprofit partner.
