SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake County District Attorney has charged a man the office believes is connected to four hit-and-runs in Salt Lake City over the last seven months.

Anh Duy Pham, 26, now faces 10 felony charges, including six first-degree felony attempted murder charges for what police call “targeted auto-pedestrian crashes.”

Pham was arrested nearly two weeks ago after police said they believed he was involved in a hit-and-run on North Temple in Salt Lake City. One woman was seriously injured in that accident.

Pham is accused in the following hit-and-run accidents:

  • Aug. 22, 2023 – a 36-year-old woman at 1000 West 500 South.
  • Feb. 24, 2024 – a 50-year-old woman and a juvenile at 1700 East Lipman Drive. (The Sandy Police Department is investigating this case.)
  • Feb. 28, 2024 – a 44-year-old woman and a 50-year-old woman at Laird Avenue and Douglas Street.
  • March 11, 2024 – a 20-year-old woman at 600 West North Temple. The crash resulted in critical injuries to the victim.

“These were allegedly predatory targetings shrouded in the shadow of accidents,” said Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill. “We continue to investigate other similar matters and encourage anyone with information to contact their local law enforcement.”

Video surveillance of that crash showed Pham’s vehicle running a red light and then hitting the woman as she was walking on the sidewalk.

Gill said police connected these four incidents through technology and with the help of several police departments.
