Woman found dead during investigation of Logan structure fire

LOGAN — The body of a woman was found during the investigation into a fire that broke out Saturday morning at a Logan residence, according to the Logan Police Department.
In a press release from the LPD, the fire broke out at a residence near 900 W. 1000 S.
Both the LPD and the Logan Fire Department responded to the report around 7:45 a.m. to investigate the cause of the fire, according to the press release.
The LPD asked citizens to avoid the area as crews were actively working on the fire.
Victim Advocates from the Cache County Attorney’s Office were also on scene.
“Today our crews responded to a structure fire in Logan. Engine 72 arrived within 5 minutes and immediately made several aggressive attempts to rescue a victim, but unfortunately were unsuccessful,” the Logan City Fire Department said. “Our hearts go out to their family and friends.”
On Monday, LPD identified the killed woman as 40-year-old Terilynn Roskelley.
Investigators believe the fire was accidentally started after “combustible materials” made contact with the natural gas from a wall-mounted heater.
